I thought of every gift I could send your way
What comes to mind is a simple yet perfect rose for you today.

It's first a small bud then the petals seem to open wide
A fresh and lovely scent escapes that was hidden deep inside.

The gift that you have always given reminds me of that rose
Your love is vast and it just seems to permeate as it grows.

When I was young I felt so safe and secure
You were always there to protect me, 
Who could ask for anything more.?

A simple rose, what beauty they give when arranged in a vase
Just like the smile I've seen so many times upon your elegant face. 

Your children know that your door is open day or night
Our Mother is joy to us and our guiding light.

Mom, I give you this rose as a token of my appreciation and love
God gave me you and the blessings flow from up above.
